The Alhamra Academy of Performing Arts boasts of a whole range of
cources in the field of music, dance and drama with classes in fine
arts, ceramics, photography and calligraphy. These are run according
to the syllabus prepared by professionals in specified fields experience.
The faculty is a mixture of talent and exThe faculty is a mixture
of talent and experience. The AAPA offers a certificate course of
three and a half months, which goes on to a diploma course and in
future the Academy plans to offer a full-fledged degree course.
The visting faculty is vast and varied with names that are well
known and have been associated with their particular fields for
decades and even generations.
The
classes are held in the congenial atmosphere of Alhamra with top
of the line facilities and the added advantage of being at the doorstep
of all major art activities in the country. The Alhamra Academy
of performing Arts has two campuses, one at the Alhamra Art Center,
Shahra-e-Quaid-e-Azam & other at Alhamra Cultural Complex, Gaddafi
Stadium.
The
Academy has been established within Alhamra & would eventually
move to a purpose built campus that would certainly be necessitated
when it evolves into university.
The
Lahore Arts Council is grateful to the Government of the Punjab
for its unlimited support…financial, legal & administrative.
The Lahore Arts Council also acknowledges the contribution of artists
towards the firming up of the concept & prescription of curricula.
Introduction:
The Alhamra Academy of performing Arts is an academy for the education
of music, dance and drama along with courses offered in ceramic,
photography, drawing/painting & calligraphy. The Academy was
established on October 7, 2002 in the premises of the Lahore Art
Council. It consists of two campuses, one at the Alhamra Art center,
Shahra-e-Quaid-e-Azam & the other at the Cultural Complex, Gaddafi
Stadium. It is the pioneer institution in Pakistan for the education
in these particular fields. The major aims & objective of the
Academy include.

students for the degree courses in various performing art.
3. to patronize & promote the cultural heritage of Pakistan;
4. to provide opportunities for professionals to improve their knowledge
& ability through summer courses;
5. to have a wide & varied visiting faculty to provide a whole
range of knowledge;
6. to eventually evolve into a university with facilities for Masters
Degree programmes & research;
Admission Requirments
The prerequist academic qualification for admission in the courses
offered is Matric:
Note:
Any student, who was rusticated, expelled or whose entry in ant
college/university campus was banned for any reason whatsoever at
any time during his/her academic career shall not be admitted to
the Academy.
Class Attendance
Regular class attendance is an essential requirement for all courses
at the Academy. Minimum attendance of class per courses is 80 percent,
which is a prerequisite minimum requirement for appearance in examinations.
Requirement
for the Award of Certificates/Diplomas
For
the award of certificate/diploma, the student is required to pass
all the prescribed courses, observe desirable standards of social
behavior & have sound moral character. In addition, he/she must
participate/perform at the end of the course in the prescribed performance
by the students of the Academy.

No mobile phones or smoking is allowed in the classrooms.
Fee
The student should deposit their full fee/dues with the Accounts
Section by the 5 th of each month. The fee is Rs. 300/- per month.
For new students, a registration fee of Rs. 100/- will be charged
at the time of admission.
