Functions:

1. To develop and maintain facilities for all forms of arts and to provide professional technical/audio-visual aids.
2. To promote and preserve the art traditions and give opportunity to artists from all genres and showcase their creativity. To document artists and their works.
3. To establish an academy/school of performing arts.
4. To institute and award scholarships, diplomas, grants, loan, aid or other assistance for furtherance of arts.
5. To conduct cultural fairs, festivals and other related activities in art & crafts within Pakistan or abroad.
6. To publish books, periodicals, brochure etc. conducive to the attainment of aims and objectives of Lahore Arts Council.
7. To hold programs on its own or in collaboration with N.GOs or as entrusted to it by the Government.
8. To impart specific skills through training in the field of fine arts, computer graphics, performing arts, photography etc.
9. To document the performers and their performances.
10. To establish museums of musical instruments, folk-heritage, archives, gallery/museum of contemporary art, library including audio-visual library.
